Summer Internships
Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, situated in the scenic and historic Mohawk Valley, 50 miles east of Syracuse in downtown Utica, offers unique opportunities in the Museum of Art for college and graduate students interested in learning museum operations and about museum-related careers. Interns work under close supervision with upper level supervisors of departments in curatorial, museum education, collections management, or exhibition installation on museum assignments that fit the background and interests of interns and the needs of the museum. Students interning at the museum during the summer for 15 hours or more per week for a minimum of three weeks, may qualify to live rent free in the PrattMWP dormitories, which are located within convenient walking distance to the Museum. To apply, send cover letter, resume, three letters of recommendation, and a personal statement (500 words, typed, double-spaced) on how this internship will further your educational and career goals, to April Oswald, Museum Education Department, 310 Genesee Street, Utica, NY 13502 or email aoswald@mwpai.org. Send an email to this address to obtain more information, or phone (315) 797-0000 ext. 2144.
Please apply by March 1.
