The Freddy Cole Quartet
Smooth, Smoky Jazz
Saturday, February 28, 2009
8 pm Museum Root Sculpture Court
Virtuoso pianist and jazz vocalist Freddy Cole captivates listeners with his refined presence and intimate singing style. With the panache of Duke Ellington and a voice like raw silk, he has emerged from the awesome shadow cast by his brother, Nat "King" Cole. His suave, elegant and articulate phrasing has been compared to Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday. Through several tours of the US, Europe, South America and the Far East, Cole has risen to the highest ranks of America's art form with his singular charm and his matchless musical sophistication.
