Bob Baber

Baber, joined Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute in 1999 as Director of Communications and Development, where he managed several departments, including fundraising/development, database communications, marketing communications, publications, membership and events. In August of 2002, following the retirement of Dr. Clyde McCulley, Baber began serving the dual role of Director of Communications and Interim Dean of the School of Art,. In March of 2003, the MWPAI Board of Trustees approved Baber's appointment as the Dean of the School of Art. In that capacity, he oversees the operation of PrattMWP, the extension center campus of the world-renowned Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and MWPAI's Community Arts Education program.

Prior to joining Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, Baber was director of public relations at SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome. He is also a former instructor of journalism studies at Utica College of Syracuse University.

Baber, a native of Utica, received his bachelor's degree in public relations and journalism from Utica College and his master's degree in news/editorial journalism from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He is also the co-author of New York Wine Country, the first book devoted exclusively to the state's wine industry.

In the community, Baber is past president of the Downtown Utica Development Association, is the former secretary of the board of the Oneida County Convention and Visitors Bureau, serves on the board of GroWest Inc., and is past president of the Utica Kiwanis Club. He is also the former president of the State University of New York Council on University Advancement and Development.

Baber has lectured on various topics including crisis communications, media relations, advertising and marketing, and, of course, the state's wine industry.

Ms. Bennett is the Registrar for the Community Arts Educaiton program and the PrattMWP college credit program. She is responsible for all aspects of registration and student records for the School of Art. Ms. Bennett holds a bachelor of arts degree in art history and museum studies from the State University of New York at Potsdam.

Ms. Foster provides administrative support to the School of Art's front office, including registration of the community arts program. She provides assistance to students in the PrattMWP program, non-credit students, staff, faculty and the public.
