TRY IT – BEGINNING JEWELRY
Beginners
Time:Tuesday
6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
 Period:Tuesday, August 26
This introductory three-hour workshop will give beginning level students the opportunity to try the class before committing to the full semester course. Through demonstrations and hands on experience, students will learn some of the basics of metalsmithing and will then have time to complete a finished piece of jewelry. Materials to make jewelry will be provided.

Students who take this class and then enroll in the full semester of beginning jewelry will have their registration fee waived.

BEGINNING JEWELRY AND METAL ARTS
Beginners
Time:Tuesday
1 to 4 pm
 Period:September 2 through December 9


This course is designed for the beginning student with no previous jewelrymaking experience. Students will learn, through demonstrations and projects, basic techniques including sawing, texturing, riveting, soldering, chainmaking and bezel setting. Students can work in silver, copper and brass, which may be purchased from the School of Art reception desk.

Intermediate

 Period:September 4 through December 11
This course is for intermediate level jewelry students who wish to spend their class time working on projects of their own design. Topics for demonstrations will depend on the interests of the class.

COMBINED CLASS: ADVANCED BEGINNING AND INTERMEDIATE JEWELRY AND METAL ARTS
Advanced Beginners and Intermediate

This course is designed for students who have completed the beginning level jewelry class and are ready to learn a variety of new techniques. Topics for demonstrations will be determined by the instructor. Intermediate level students may work on projects of their own design.
