PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT

PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT FOR GRADES 10, 11 AND 12: Time: Monday 6:30 to 9:30 pm  Period: September 8 through December 15 This is a serious portfolio development course that will focus on building and improving drawing skills, an important criterion for art college admission. Students will work from the still life and figure (no nude models), as well as self-portrait. Instruction will cover line quality and gesture drawing, contour line drawing, negative space exercises, proportion and measuring, texture and value. Students will explore a variety of media, including: conte, charcoal, ink, gesso and collage. All students will receive a final review of their work and additional information to help them build a strong portfolio. Course Number: AA101-4  Instructor: Al Shaw  Class Limit: 15  Lab Fee: $75  Tuition: $230 ADVANCED PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT Time: Wednesday 6:30 to 9:30 pm  Period: September 3 through December 10 This course is a continuation of Portfolio Development. The course content is similar to Portfolio Development with advanced techniques. A nude model will be used. In order to enroll in this class, students must have completed one of the following: one semester or more of MWPAI’s Portfolio Development class OR a portfolio review conducted by the PrattMWP Admissions staff or faculty member.
